Clean Show 2009 – More Quality, More Savings, More Environment, More Kreussler! The team of Kreussler Inc. USA as well as Mr. Zeck, Dr. Seiter, and Dr. Eigen from Wiesbaden (Germany) were quite busy during the four days of the Clean Show (18. - 21. June) in New Orleans. With its motto „More Quality, More Savings, More Environment“, the team informed the show visitors about the current product developments from Kreussler.
Particularly with regard to the current economic situation and ecological challenges, Kreussler’s motto - best possible effectiveness with maximal use of active ingredients, minimal material consumption and best possible conservation of resources and environment – takes into account the difficult market conditions and customer demands for economical AND ecological solutions.
Protecting the environment is one of Kreussler’s main goals. To fulfil this idea Kreussler, a family owned company, uses in-house research for chemistry and pharmaceutical labs. With nearly 100 years of experience and know how in textiles, Wetcleaning, Drycleaning, Laundry, process technology and the idea to serve the customer is the focus of Kreussler’s daily work.
All Kreussler products are free of APEO, NTA and phosphates. Surfactants are easily biodegradable. Kreussler is doing this work with respect of the environment and to the satisfaction of clients. Kreussler laundry products are dermatological tested.
The contribution to various EC research projects, e.g. SMILES (low-temperature washing procedures) or ACCEPT (cleaning in CO2), proves Kreussler’s untiring efforts in developing eco-friendly products and procedures and in advancing research in this area.
One focus of the show presentation was Wet cleaning using the LANADOL procedure.
The LANADOL products and process technologies are the result of the unequaled know-how that Kreussler has continued to advanced for more than 18 years.
Wet cleaning is particularly economical. On one hand, no solvents need to be distilled which saves time and energy. On the other hand, solvent disposal is not required which saves disposal costs and expenditure. Short batch cycles and lower dosage quantities are benefits that clearly prove the efficiency of wet cleaning.
Kreussler fulfills the requirements of ecolabels like “Blue Angel RAL UZ 104” to meet the demands of “Nordic Swan” regarding detergent ingredients. Wetcleaning is maybe the most flexible textile care technology on the market.
Wetcleaning with LANADOL meets the requirements of consumers, looking for the best way to treat their favourite garments. Our high competence and perfect service have built confidence in wet cleaning.
In the field of Drycleaning Kreussler has a full product range for perc, hydrocarbon, GreenEarth and liquid carbon dioxide. As the latest innovation for perc and hydrocarbon cleaning the super concentrate CLIP GREEN CONC was presented at the Clean Show. The product is free of VOC; containing no fillers and with outstanding low dosing of 1/2 oz per 10 lbs of textiles, the still waste will be reduce by 40 %. Every ounce of CLIP GREEN CONC contributes to the cleaning effect. This saves not only disposal costs but also improves the distillation process and saves energy. A benefit for the environment while saving costs for the textile cleaner. Textiles treated with CLIP GREEN CONC have a very pleasant smell, reliable antistatic effect AND important for the end user, the textiles are free of any odors.
Textile cleaning with CLIP GREEN CONC offers not only a considerable increase in efficiency and increased operational safety but also savings in consumption costs for drycleaning detergents, solvents, energy, and disposal.
Outstanding washing performance is an inherent property of the super concentrated heavy-duty detergent TREBON PLUS. Excellent bleaching effect, enzymatic breakdown of soil and the washing power of multifunctional builders, dehardening the water and releasing the necessary alkalinity are the most important characteristics of TREBON PLUS. The powder is extremely efficient: 1 kg of TREBON PLUS will wash 100 kg laundry. Activated bleach starting with 40°C (105°F) and optical brighteners are responsible for giving white textiles a brilliant white look.
Besides the actual show proceedings, Kreussler’s invitation to the Hospitality Suite was the ideal chance to socialize and make contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.
The currently difficult economic situation was reflected by the slightly reduced number of show visitors this year at the Kreussler stand but this could be compensated by the quality of the technical discussions.
The discussions made at Clean 09 show that Kreussler is deeply rooted in the US market and that quality and service have set standards in textile care.
For cleaners and laundry operators who put an emphasis on maximal quality standards AND cost effectiveness, the visit at the Kreussler stand was more than rewarding.

Changes to the range of products We would like to inform you about the following changes to our range of products:
- Consolidation of the products DEPRIT 1-2-3 and DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL
- Introduction of our new product OTTALIN CITRO
- SOLVON – Price reduction and smaller trading unit
Consolidation of the products DEPRIT 1-2-3 and DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL
With the new DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL (1-2-3-4-5-6), we have consolidated the previous set DEPRIT 1-2-3 and the set DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL that has been named after its colours. This combines the benefits of both sets that excel by their uncomplicated, safe, and effective application. The reliable colour index for labeling the effectiveness spectrum of the Kreussler spotting agents was also retained.
As of now, the new DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL is available in 500 ml bottles. The commonly used DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL 1, 2 and 3 are also available in the reliable 5 l refill canisters. DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL 4, 5 and 6 which are used for specific but less frequently encountered types of stains are exclusively available in 500 ml bottles.
The colour labeling of DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL and PRENETT A-B-C products has been unified to avoid confusion at the workplace. The DEPRIT stain table shows an overview of the assignment of the stain substances to the appropriate spotting agent. The table is available in several languages.
With regard to applications, the new series has been divided into two groups. The first group consists of DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL 1-2-3, the three universal stain removers that can remove 80% to 90% of the commonly encountered stains quickly and safely.
As DEPRIT 1-2-3 previously, the new DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL can be used for stains of unknown origin in the sequence DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL 1, followed by DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL 2; if the stain has not disappeared by then, DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL 3 can be used.
The spotting agents have been perfectly balanced to ensure that this sequence has a maximal chance of success with a minimal risk of treatment errors.
The second group, DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL 4-5-6, comprises the specialists for removing specific, partly stubborn stains.
The new DEPRIT PROFESSIONAL series will be delivered as of now.

OTTALIN FINISH – Recipe change By changing the recipe we have fundamentally improved OTTALIN FINISH.
Besides a better starching effect (grip, rigidity) and a pleasant scent, the product is now even more economical.
Tests have shown that OTTALIN FINISH
- demonstrates a noticeably improved starching effect and is therefore even more economical: during the test it was sometimes possible to work with up to 50% less than the normally used amount of OTTALIN FINISH (depending on desired starch effect),
- leaves a neutral scent in the laundry (the product itself is slightly perfumed),
- can be easily flushed (no residue in the flushing compartment, tools are easier to clean) and
- shows no separation in the canister.
The viscosity of the product has increased after the change, so that the product is thicker. OTTALIN FINISH can still be easily dosed with all pumps. The pumps merely need to be recalibrated.
You can clearly identify the new OTTALIN FINISH from old stock by our well known
red sticker. The packaging and price of OTTALIN FINISH remain the same.
The new OTTALIN FINISH will be produced at the moment (batch No.: 9114-04).

Texcare International – Kreussler convinces by innovations Texcare International 2008, the world trade fair for the laundry and cleaning industry, was particularly successful for Kreussler. The Kreussler team from Germany, the Netherlands, France, USA, and Poland was extremely busy introducing the outstanding product and procedure innovations to the expert audience. Kreussler was supported by their trade partners from Germany, Belgium, Russia, Sweden, and New Zealand.
All innovations from Kreussler have the same objective: increased efficiency with lower costs. Examples:
• DERVAL POWER – the „”Liquid powder”“
• The ECOSAN 3 Litre procedure
• CLIP GREEN CONC – The active ingredient concentrate
In the field of industrial and institutional laundry care, Kreussler have completed their range of liquid concentrates with the products DERVAL POWER and DERVAL BRIGHT. DERVAL POWER, DERVAL BRIGHT, in conjunction with DERVAL ENERGY and OTTALIN PA CONC allow washing procedures to be structured in a modular way and offer efficient and economical solutions for the most different types of laundry and soiling.
DERVAL POWER is a liquid and highly concentrated one-shot detergent that has the cleaning power of a powder. Furnished with optical brightener, DERVAL POWER is perfectly suited for textiles made of cotton and blended fabrics.
Extremely strong detergency and lowest application quantities of DERVAL POWER are the basis of its economical advantage. For a maximum of clean and hygienic laundry, 3.5-6 ml per kg of dirty laundry (depending on the degree of contamination) are sufficient.
In connection with OTTALIN PA CONC, chemothermal disinfection with no more than 0.8 ml/l DERVAL POWER and 0.8 ml/l OTTALIN PA CONC is possible. With a reaction time of NO MORE THAN 10 minutes at 60°C, this procedure has been submitted for RKI listing according to §18 IfSG Type A (bacteria) and B (viruses).
The detergency booster DERVAL BRIGHT has been developed especially for white working clothes used in food processing. Optimized for the removal of vegetable oils and grease, DERVAL BRIGHT ensures excellent whiteness of textiles made of cotton and polyester due to its specific optical brightener system.
The well-known DERVAL ENERGY is the counterpart for heavily soiled coloured working clothes.
Like all of Kreussler’s detergents and washing additives, DERVAL POWER and DERVAL BRIGHT do not contain phosphates and NTA which makes them particularly environmentally compatible.
Another trade fair novelty was the ECOSAN 3 litre procedure, a further development of the well-known ECOSAN procedure. The new procedure that has been applied for patent protection is based on the combination of optimized water circulation control with heat exchangers and the introduction of precisely coordinated detergents, disinfectants, and auxiliary agents. The particularities: The press and rinsing water is reclaimed completely to be reused in the prewashing and main washing cycles. The washing process requires no more than 3 litres of fresh water per kilogram of textiles processed that is used exclusively for rinsing. The ECOSAN 3 litre procedure is extremely economical as it saves water, energy, detergent, and chemicals – without loss of quality.
However, Kreussler excelled not only with product and procedure innovations at Texcare: The presentation of technical solutions was another focus of the trade appearance. With new systems, Kreussler offer individual dosing systems for all sizes of enterprises that are customized to the given operational circumstances.
Also, visitors of Kreussler stand could take a look at the multilevel WRG system of UHS that has been developed in cooperation with Kreussler especially for the ECOSAN 3 litre procedure.
In the field of textile cleaning, Kreussler relies on a sensible mix of cleaning in solvent AND water. The rapidly growing market for the cleaning of washable textiles calls for a quick reaction to these changes and adaptions of one’s own range of services to ensure continued competitiveness.
Wet cleaning in the LANADOL procedure ensures perfect cleaning results, bright colours, and pleasant scent. For washable textiles, Kreussler regards the liquid washing system ESDOGEN as a sensible completion.
For delicate textiles that need to be cleaned in solvent, Kreussler have developed a new highly concentrated dry cleaning detergent. CLIP GREEN CONC is a basic revolution of the current cleaner market! Since CLIP GREEN CONC consists of pure active ingredients, it is the first cleaning detergent that does not contain fillers. CLIP GREEN CONC stands out by sensational cleaning power and excellent antistatic characteristics, reliable protection from greying, fresh scent, and an even better wear comfort of the cleaned clothing which convinces not only the cleaner but also his customers. Due to its unique formulation, CLIP GREEN CONC is twice as economical as conventional detergency boosters and ensures powerful and hygienic cleaning in spite of extremely low dosage quantities. CLIP GREEN CONC can be used in perk and hydrocarbon.
In addition to the actual trade fair events, Kreussler welcomed not only the delegation of owners of the “America’s Best Cleaners” group but also members of the textile cleaner federation from Moscow and decision makers from the Polish market. After a factory visit, visitors had a chance to socialize and make business contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.
The rush of visitors and the quality of business contacts at Texcare International show that Kreussler is setting standards in the laundry and cleaning trade. Cleaners and launderers who appreciate utmost quality standards AND efficiency certainly gained a lot from their visit of the Kreussler exhibition stand.

Mopping pads – Disinfection and durability – a contradiction in itself? With modern mops, the correct washing procedure is crucial.
The cleaning of rooms and floors in hospitals and health institutions must comply with official hygiene requirements. The hygienically perfect execution of cleaning and surface disinfection is inevitable for cleanliness as well as for infection prevention and stops hazardous germs from spreading. Therefore, the cleaning utensils (such as mopping pads) must be treated thermally, chemothermally and chemically as well as disinfected after use. In Germany, the cleaning and disinfecting agents and procedures must have RKI* listing.
In daily use, mopping pads are susceptible to extreme pollution from dirt, chemicals, and disinfecting agents. In hospitals and nursing homes, the mopping pad is removed and washed after a short period (after each room) so that the washing procedure is crucial for mopping pad wear. The performance characteristics of a mopping pad depend on fibre composition and weight. From a weight loss of more than 30 %, the mop must usually be replaced to ensure its sufficient area cleaning performance. When using conventional disinfecting detergents, this can mean that the mopping pads have to be replaced after 300 – 400 usage cycles.
Vileda Professional, leading developer and manufacturer of innovative cleaning products, always strive to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of their products and therefore customer satisfaction. By international comparison, Vileda found that the usage lifespan of mopping pads in Belgium and in the Netherlands is considerably higher than in Germany. When tracing the reason for this phenomenon, it was determined that in these countries, the majority of mopping pads is washed with Kreussler disinfecting detergents using the corresponding washing procedures. In order to figure out whether the positive results were sheer coincidence or reprodicable, Vileda conducted a long-term field test in cooperation with the Juliusspital in Würzburg and Chemische Fabrik Kreussler.
From June 2004, the Juliusspital conducted the test for treating the mopping pads. For this test, the Vileda Professional Swep Classic Finnmop (fringes: 50 % rayon / 50 % polyester) was used. One half of the applied pads was washed with Kreussler products after each usage cycle while the other half was treated with products from another manufacturer. In both cases, the treatment was made following the manufacturer’s information with disinfecting washing procedures according to the demands of the RKI listing.
Throughout the test period of almost 2 years, mopping pad samples were taken for examination and tested for serviceability, weight loss, water absorption capability, appearance, and hygienic aspects.
After 380 usage and washing cycles, the products from the other manufacturer showed a weight loss of approx. 30 %. Since this is the threshold for serviceability, they had to be replaced. The mopping pads treated with Kreussler products showed a weight loss of only 17 % after 380 cycles. After almost 2 years and more than 620 treatment cycles, this test was completed. The mopping pads treated with Kreussler products showed a weight loss of merely 24 % and therefore still complied with the defined demands on serviceability.
This test under conditions of practice clearly confirmed the advantages of the Kreussler procedure with Vileda Swep mops.
The Kreussler products DERVAL SOLO and OTTALIN PERACET used in this test were applied according to the RKI listing demands (disinfection at 60°C in chemothermal washing procedures).
Kreussler washing procedure – OTTALIN PERACET procedure:
1. Pre-rinse: 5 minutes 40°C, rinse-off without additives
2. Mainwash: 12 minutes 60°C, with 2 ml/l DERVAL SOLO and 2 ml/l OTTALIN PERACET
3. Rinsing baths
For coloured mopping pads, Kreussler recommend the use of the colour wash detergent DERVAL RENT in conjunction with OTTALIN PERACET listed by VAH / DGHM**, RKI* listing pending.
In addition to the prolonged lifetime of the mops, lower application quantities, the shortest process time according to RKI listing at 60 °C and low product costs are important factors which attest the effectiveness and efficency of the Kreussler washing procedure. The field test also showed that disinfection and durability of mopping pads do not contradict one another when Kreussler washing procedures are applied.
The advantages of the gentle treatment of e.g. Vileda high-performance mopping pads using the Kreussler procedure at one glance:
- Effectiveness and efficiency due to low application quantities and short process time;
- Longer lifetime , keeping the value of the mopping pads;
- Chemothermal disinfection process according RKI - Type A (bacteria) und B (viruses)
- Complies with DIN EN 1276 (bactericidal), DIN EN 1275 (fungicidal) und DIN EN 14476 (virucidal)
* RKI = Robert Koch Institute, Berlin
** VAH/DGHM = Association for Applied Hygiene / German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology
